The Thinking Man has received a plug from a fellow skeptical blogger at Panhandle Faithless. Together with the recommendation, some criticism was also handed out (in true skeptical fashion, that is no sugar coating anything. We'll leave that to the self-deluded). Below I am reproducing a portion of the plug:
While not a major blog, the author seems to make a roughly daily post about some news bit that needs a more skeptical eye turned towards it. A little dry, perhaps. Maybe a bit predictable. But, what do you want! I mean, there are hundreds of ways to believe in gods and spirits; and only one way not to believe. So, for all his dryness, I want to recommend The Thinking Man as a blog to consider.Ok, so I reproduced almost all of it, but hey it's the first plug I get and I'm enjoying it, even the criticism about being a bit dry and predictable. I apologize for any dryness, however I am not a professional writer (I wasn't that good at writing in school either). I try to make the post as interesting and fun to read as I can, but most of them are put together fairly quickly, spur of the moment kind of thing. There is not a lot of time to do any editing. But, I'll do my best to improve in that area.
I am happy that my main goal is achieved, which is that of bringing to the attention of anyone who takes the time to read my post, any interesting news items, which need to be looked at through the skeptical prism. I am not a scientist, so I will not try to dish out highly technical posts, just general observations that any rational person should be able to come up with on their own.
So please do read on, leave your comments and take the polls. All of that is very incouraging and helpful. Peace!
